Mark is Global Chief Operating Officer for WSP and also chairs the UK & Ireland Executive Board. Mark oversees global operations and promotes growth, financial performance and collaboration while further leveraging the global scale of the business. Prior to his appointment as Global Chief Operating Officer, Mark was President for WSP In Europe, the Middle East, Israel and Africa. He has over 35 years of experience in leadership roles at WSP.

Paul is the President and Managing Director of WSP in the UK & Ireland. Based in London, Paul oversees WSP’s strategic priorities and client delivery across the UK and Ireland, reinforcing the firm’s capabilities in critical growth markets, including infrastructure, environment, water, property, and energy.

Paul has a particular passion for promoting economic regeneration, building valuable long-term client relationships, and supporting the decarbonisation of the UK. 

Prior to joining WSP in 2022, he was the Managing Director of Stantec UK, Managing Partner at Peter Brett Associates, and chaired the Association for Consultancy and Engineering between 2020 and 2021. Paul attended Cambridge University and Harvard Business School.

Miles Barnard is Chief Financial Officer for WSP in the UK & Ireland. Miles is responsible for the financial management and governance of the regional businesses including reporting and planning, which encompasses setting and delivering the long-term goals of the business. In addition to his UK & Ireland role, Miles is also Chief Financial Officer for WSP in Europe and Africa.

Paul is Chief Strategy Officer for WSP in the UK & Ireland. Paul is responsible for market analysis, market positioning, business development, strategic bidding and proposals, key client management and client feedback for WSP’s work across all sectors in the UK & Ireland. In addition to his UK & Ireland role, Paul is also Chief Strategy Officer for WSP in Africa.

Mathieu du Plooy is Chief Operating Officer of WSP in the UK & Ireland. Mathieu is responsible for leading the day-to-day operational and commercial functions of the company and assisting the WSP in the UK & Ireland President and Managing Director with the implementation of the company's strategy. In addition to his UK & Ireland role, Mathieu is also Chief Operating Officer for WSP in Africa.

Karen Sewell is General Counsel for WSP in the UK & Ireland. Karen is responsible for oversight of all legal aspects of the business including strategic acquisition and integration planning, client appointments, claims and dispute management, corporate governance, regulatory and contractual risk, insurance, and corporate affairs. In addition to her UK & Ireland role, Karen is also Legal Counsel for WSP in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa.

Caroline Parsons is Chief Human Resources Officer for WSP in the UK & Ireland. Caroline is responsible for leading the people and culture pillar for the business. In addition to her UK & Ireland role, Caroline is also Chief Human Resources Officer for WSP in Europe, Middle East and Africa. 

Ciaran Thompson is Commercial Director for WSP in the UK & Ireland. Ciaran is responsible for all aspects of commercial risk management across the UK & Ireland, including work winning, project delivery and dispute resolution. In addition to his UK & Ireland role, Ciaran is also Commercial Director for WSP in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
