The new church was proposed to replace an existing damaged church on the same site, which was badly damaged in the Christchurch earthquakes, and provide a place of worship for over 200 parishioners. It was also proposed to work in with an existing Parish Centre on the site which was undamaged in the earthquakes and the Parish wished to retain.

Located at the Styx River mouth, at a site of cultural significance to the local Maori community, this small and functional building with viewing platform was designed to reference the site’s history of voyage.

WSP harnessed the expertise of a range of leaders including structural, mechanical, electrical and fire engineers as well as architects, and lighting consultants to design the structure as two simple mono-pitched forms that create volume in the parish hall and chapel.

The Dunedin Town Hall redevelopment was a project of substantial civic importance, which included the complete upgrade of the historical Municipal Chambers, Dunedin Centre, and the Dunedin Town Hall.

Driven by the requirements of the combined Horizons Regional Council and Palmerston North City Council Emergency Operations Centre and the main tenant, Inland Revenue, the Importance Level Four (IL4) building provides a significantly enhanced facility to meet the important resilence requirements for the local and government agencies and private tenants while offering large open plan flexible office floor plates.

The apartment building at 118 Bealey Avenue represented an opportunity to be part of the Christchurch rebuild and to help reinforce this important and historically significant Avenue.

Designing an ‘office away from the office’ for BNZ partners centres nationwide

WSP provided the site master planning, detailed design and construction observation for this 4.5ha warehouse, workshop and commercial office complex.

Careful consideration of the 1937 heritage listed building was a defining principle for this project not only for our client but also a strong prerequisite for Heritage New Zealand and Dunedin city.

A $60m ten level building, consisting of 106 quality residential apartments located on a north facing site in Victoria Quarter, Auckland CBD. Each apartment is generously proportioned, light and open, spatially efficient, and oriented to panoramic views.
